A Word for 2010

Here we are at the close of yet another year. Soon, the Christmas tree will be put away, the guests will all be gone, the food will be all eaten, the presents will be unwrapped, the kids will have devoured every ounce of energy, and then the quiet will settle in. Tomorrow, you will have the opportunity to look back and see what you did and did not accomplish for 2009. Recently, God put on my heart a scripture for the New Year and I felt led to share it with all of you. In Philippians 3:13-14, Paul spoke to the church saying; " Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. " It is so easy at this time of the year to reflect on the goals that we set for last year and think on what did not come to fruition. I thank God that He inspired Paul to say that he hasn't arrived. It brings to mind Joyce's saying "I am not where I want to be, but thank God I am not where I used to be." Yesterday is gone, you can't get it back (Matthew 6:27). You may hear me say, "Where's the rewind button?" In life, there are no rewind buttons. You can't go back and change yesterday nor can we take back the words that we speak. But you can take hold of tomorrow and begin a new day. God is getting ready to pour out His Spirit and His blessings more than ever in 2010. I believe it will be the year to win! God is calling us to move forward in 2010 and soon we will be coming into a new level of maturity. It's time to press forward in what God has in store for you whether it's in your marriages, your finances, your relationships, your businesses, your dreams and visions, and so much more. Don't look back at say, "I thought I would be married this time last year" or "I planned on being debt free but now it seems like I am no further ahead." Don’t look at the wayward and think “I thought you would be saved by this past Christmas.” Look forward and say, "God, You have this plan for me and I know that you are for me. Thank you God that you are bringing me a life mate who is the head and not the tail, who is above and not below, who is financially and spiritually stable, who loves me as Christ loves the church." Or "God, Your word says that the borrower is slave to the lender. I don't want to be enslaved any longer, but I trust that you will equip me to become completely debt free. I will owe no man anything." God has empowered you to be what He has called you to be. My prayer for you is that the goals that you have set in your heart will come to past in agreement with the Word of God this year. My hope for you is that your heart will be encouraged and uplifted. I want you to know that you are on God’s heart and He loves you. I know it’s a Christian cliché to say that I will pray for you and believe with you. I want you to know that it’s truly an honor to pray and to work alongside each and every one of you. Get ready for a great year!
