Updates on the Kiddos and Life

God has been so awesome to Sara and I. Both of us lately have been under the weather. More her about pregnancy and me about the cold. Today is a great day though, we are going to the United Tour Concert tonight! It's one night away from the Kiddo and some fun with Jen and Wendy. Sara is in her 14th week of being pregnant. The baby is growing healthy and whole. I am sure you are looking for a weekly update and I am going to be trying to do that for you. Life at 14 Weeks:This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.Sara's Life at 14 WeeksHave you ever wondered when it will end? Sara's at that point with morning sickness and other blah things. She is excited about the 2nd Trimester which is going be "easier" for her. It's hard to believe to see her pregnant again but still cute as ever! She's beautiful no matter what stage she is in. We believe in the power of prayer. It's so easy to flippantly say, "I'll pray for you." When we say we are, be careful....we are praying for you. So I want to encourage you to pray for them today. So many more updates to come including a possible new song that I have written. I know, many people are surprised...right.. :) Be blessed!

I admit to ignorance but what is the United Tour? You know what, I'll just Google it and find out real quick ....

Cool beans, I love Michael W. Smith! He and SCC together, that's a darn good show. I mean, SCC just won Best Artist at the Dove Awards for, what, the 35th straight year?

your little pugilist's hands

I take it the writer is a big "Rocky" fan? Is having a baby the REAL "sweet science?"

We really enjoyed the concert. As always, they brought down the house! SCC was emotional about his daughter getting married and his other daughter's passing. He really sang well. MWS revisted the past with some older hits. I have to admit, though, he's really aged. But he's aged well. They used that a lot in the concert.

Having a baby is a science. Raising them is a chore. Loving them is a blast. You guys will enjoy. Definately. :)
