Week 24, Baby Update, and One Year

Welcome to Week 24! We have finally found out what kind of joy we are having. The baby is a girl! Maleah Noel Howell is doing well and very healthy. We have so many people praying for her safe delivery and wonderful life. So far we have enjoyed the joys of heartburn and sleepless nights but other than that, the pregnancy has been uneventful. We celebrated our one year anniversary early this year with a trip to St Louis to the Hilton. We were given a really nice, brand new room and we enjoyed a night of each other in peace. We had dinner at Bandana's BBQ which was awesome! Then we retreated to our room to a show of Wheel of Fortune. I feel so old but who cares. I am married now, who am I trying to impress other than my wife? Sheesh. We woke at 500 the next morning to a movie and breakfast. Then we retreated to our room to pack and play a game of Phase Ten which is a tradition that we have. We then drove far and beyond to the St Louis Mills Mall where we spent some money we have been saving up and bought our new addition some clothes. ;) We over did it physically so Sunday was our recouperation day.

Week 24
Your baby, now about in its 22nd week of development, is 8.4 inches from crown to rump and weighs about 1.2 pounds. It is starting to produce white blood cells, mostly for combating disease and infection, and may respond to your touch or sounds. If you haven't felt hiccups yet, you might feel some jerking motion now.

One Year Ago

On March 17th, 2007, Sara and I celebrated a milestone in our lives. We became husband and wife and prepared the spend our lives with one another forever. It has certainly been an adventurous year:

April
Well, I lost my job at Washington University 6 weeks into our marriage which threw our world into a shake up. A few days later, we traveled to Memphis where my car decided to quit working. The transmission blew out while we were in town. We attempted to repair it and to no avail, were scammed. Anyhow, Sean took us home and I went back a week later to get my car.

May
I began working at JMM as a CCR with NMM. Sara and I celebrated our 25th birthdays and went camping with the Kleins.

June
My Grandfather passed away after fighting many illness over the past few years. We drove to Memphis with no air in the car.

July
Once again, my transmission went on hiatus. We spent this month with the "Green Beast".

August
For a third time, our transmission went out and we spent some time with the "Green Beast", who also went out the same weekend. We traveled to Memphis for my parent's anniversary.

September
Other than a few annoyances with the neighbor, nothing much happened.

October
On Halloween, we called the police on our neighbor who loves to party during the week. After being confronted, harrassment began.

November
We found out that we were pregnant with Maleah Noel.

December
Other than more harrassment from our neighbor, not too much more happened.

January
Finally, after having enough of our neighbor, we moved to Red Bud into Jamie and Wendy's old house.

February
I so love our new home. It has a few kinks being worked out. The bathroom was scheduled to be completed but weather delays caused it to not be.

March
The bathroom pipes blew within a week of each other. We found out the sex of our little bundle of joy and we celebrated one year!

You will have to check out previous blogs over the past two years to see our eventful lives. :) We are living proof that you can have a happy marriage. Keep reading for the next year of our lives! There is always more!
