Well, on Tuesday we made the difficult decision to welcome back into our lives….The Green Beast. Our car quit once again because the transmission leaked all over Gravois Rd and I had to have it towed all the way back to Red Bud (45 minutes from work). How embarrassing it had to have been to see a grown man on the side of the road on his cell trying to get someone to tow it. Anyway, it sits once again at the shop to be repaired and now we have re-inherited The Green Beast.
We had a great time yesterday just hanging out with family. Well, more or less swinging around. Sara and I went to Grandma B's house for her annual BBQ where we decided to recline after filling our bellies with food. We sat on her wooden swing on the patio. For some reason we decided that we wanted to talk to family while we sat there so we adjusted our bodies as such. Sara leaned on my chest to see everyone and I leaned back to make sure all was well in the Kingdom. All was not well in the Kingdom….lol. The swing came crashing down with Sara and I in it, I was whacked on the head by the ceiling board that was holding the swing up, and like the wonderful relatives that we have, they all laughed. Of course, I laughed too because man, it was funny! After picking up the pieces of the swing, we had some homemade ice cream (the first I had ever had), and decided to retreat to Jamie and Wendy's house with the kids. We ended up eating Italian food, swimming for a little while, and loosing my wedding ring. Just when you think the story couldn't get any funnier….a little pee comes out (that's for you Sara). We were swimming in their pool which isn't very big but big enough to loose my wedding band. Why did I not take it off like the good husband that I am? I don't know. J But I lost it. Soon after loosing it, the kids had to get out so Wendy, Sara, and I could look for it. We did the search and Wendy found it in a loop at the bottom of the pool. Needless to say I was relieved. Anyhow, we decided it was time to get out and get ready to leave. We headed to Jay and Iva's to pick up the Green Beast and go home. Did we go home? No. We thought it would be nice to go see some fireworks in Evansville with the family. It thundered and lightening for the whole time we were there. But it was so worth it. The kids enjoyed it, well Kirsten enjoyed it. Braeden hates loud noises and with that in mind, he was covered up most of the evening. We finally retreated to our home and fell asleep for a few hours. We woke up with thundering g and lightening going on but retreated back to rest shortly afterwards. Sara set her alarm for 430am like usual, we got up at 600am…she was late. So needless to say she got up bolting and running around the house. Poor thing is probably exhausted from all the running. But I love her and miss her just the same.
Now that you have been updated, I must retreat to my work and my life as a Joyce Meyer Ministries Employee. I love and miss you all!
