**We now return you to your regularly scheduled blogging**
Well, we made it! Our wedding and honeymoon are over. It was very very beautiful at the wedding with the snow and the decorations. It doesn't just snow in March. Especially on St. Patty's day. We headed to the Bahamas on Monday Morning on a beautiful damp day. It was just awesome flying up into the clouds and seeing all of God's glory. Once we landed in Miami, we decided to take a walk through the airport and come back later. We boarded the next flight with the fear of God in mind. It was a prepellar engine plane that rocked as it took off and jerked around for the 15 minutes we were taking off.....come on people, American Airlines is a multi-million dollar corporation. Give me a plane that won't take me out of this world permanetly. We were greeted with some seat belts missing and others being replaced as we boarded the plane. A loud bump under the plane warned us that we were about to land and the scretching tired and bumpy run way let us know, we were there. Little did we know the adventures that we had encountered were just a small prelude to the excitement of the honeymoon.
We made it to the RIU resort where we called home for 4 days. It was very well done in the lobby and high class. However, the room wasn't as impressive. Most of the teenagers (which you will hear about through this blog) couldn't stand staying in their own rooms....but that is just story for another day. The bed proved to be our biggest obstacle being that it was harder than....let's just say it was just hard. Though the bed was hard, we enjoyed the food! Yummy. I think that was the majority of our vacation was the food. There were about 4 bars and 4 restaraunts in the resort with a beautiful view of the ocean. We walked on the beach for most of the afternoons that we were there. The teens managed to leave us alone enough to catch some sun and some rest. We ended each day with a big dinner at one of the restaraunts each night.
There was an account of boobage from one teenager shortly after the beer drinking contest by the pool. He was either drunk or the booby attacker was the one drunk. I choose to believe the kid was little tipsy from the view of him stumbling over the beach chairs and the slap on the face he got from telling the story to his girlfriend.
*NOTE TO SELF: DON'T TELL THE ONE YOU LOVE THAT YOU SAW SOME MAJOR BOOBAGE UNLESS IT IS THEIR OWN.**
With the drinking age being so low down there, the level of STUPID compensated for the lack there of. I am suprised that so many parents allowed their children (yes, I call teenagers kids. Anyone under 21 is considered a minor in the states for Alcohol consumption.) to drink as much as they did. Once they were barred from one bar, they went to another one. When all the bars were done selling liquor, it was off to the rooms where there was more liquor in the wet bar.
Though the level of stupid was on the rise, we didn't let it dampen our honeymoon. As a matter of fact, we found it humorous to see gay Bahamian guides throwing water balloons at drunk teenage girls and the girls almost falling in the pool. I don't know if he was just thinking maybe a guy would dive in and save them or what but whatever the case was, it was funny.
We enjoyed our time there but it was time to come home। The day we left, we got up before 8॥which was a far cry from what we did during the week by getting up at 10 and not leaving the room until 11। We packed our bags and left the island behind. Though we were ready to leave, the time wasn't ready to leave us. We arrived in Chicago around 755 after circling around the airport for half an hour with hopes on going home as soon as we landed. We ended up waiting until 1130 to leave because of the bad weather outside. Once we got home we crashed. Our married life has been wonderful. I can't believe that I get to wake up to my best friend every single day in our lives.
Returning to normal was harder than I thought. Work was just exhausting trying to remember everything and get everything done. But I have to say, I am glad to be back. I am glad that Sara is here at my side to get me through this adjustment.
