26 Weeks in Tummy Central

It's a night in front of the tube watching the Cardinals whoop up on the Diamondbacks! We are just jellin' like no body's business tonight. Sara's growing more and more everyday. Maleah loves playing peek a boo with Joanna. Joanna's getting bigger and healthier. We believe great things are to come. Sara's getting more anxious as the day arrives. Keep her in prayer as there were issues in Maleah's delivery. We believe that the blood will flow correctly and not clot in Jesus name. We can't wait to see the newest addition to our home.

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

We are also anticipating the arrival of Jeff and Val's little boy, Cooper. As if he hasn't heard it enough already, I was going to mention "Mini-Coop" but we already know it's getting old. But this little one will be healthy and grow strong.

Josh leant me a book called "The Unlikely Disciple" by Kevin Roose, which is a pretty good read. It is not for the faint of heart or the deeply religious. But it will get you to think more and more each day.

There's not too much going on other than doctors visits and weekly visits to Sonic for a Lemonberry Slush for the muther.... I love God, I love my family, and I love my job. God is so good to me. Be blessed!

Val had her 24-week appointment this afternoon. No problems, all is well and still set for the arrival of mini Cooper in about 16 weeks, not long after Joanna has her first breaths!
