Don't Panic, It's Only A Test

Through out this entire election, I have heard many people panic about the fact of if Obama becomes president. I often found myself feeling the same way about it at certain points. Now we are here, he is president, but one thing still remains the same. God is in control. We no longer are able to sit under a God fearing nation. Soon, there is a possibility that we will no sit under it again. The underlying fact of the matter is, Obama is president-elect and we must now pray for him and Washington. In Romans, Paul writes that we must pray for those who are in authority over us. There is nothing that the President can do, there is nothing that Congress can do, there is nothing that the Senate can do without Almighty God allowing it to happen. The fact of the matter is that we can no longer sit and be idle. The Christian people must get up and get ready. Gone are the days that Christians can sit on their hands and allow the rights of the people be thrown away. Gone are the days that Christians sit on their hands and allow this nation, this country, this people to get trampled over the government misleading tactics. I say these things in respect of our leaders in Washington and our leaders at home. But we must stand for what America stands for. It's time to forget the color of the skin, the accent of the native, the mind of the intellect, the pride of the people, and the heart of the cold. Christians must now stand up and say, "we are no longer going to do nothing." Many people have argued that Christians are the reason that the government is the way that it is. And they are right. Christians have long forgotten to get up and do something other than complain about who is in office. Barack Obama is now your president. He deserves your prayers. He NEEDS your prayers. He has the burden of this country's financial crisis, it's demands, and it's wars. Today, I ask that you put your political views aside. Today, I ask that you put your racial views aside. Today, I ask you to do something that we often forget to do. Today, I ask you to pray. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 it says, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." Today, you have a decision to make. Today, you have an opportunity to stand. In Joshua 24:15, it was Joshua who stood up for his beliefs. “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” So, the question remains, who are you going to serve? Who are you going to follow?

The good thing to remember is that even though Obama was elected, on a state-by-state basis most of the issue votes such as anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage swung our way, so even though the voters bought into the "hope and change" hype the country still leans right of center and towards Christian values.
