A Weekend Away- BONUS 33 Weeks and 7 Weeks left to Go!

I bet some of you were wondering when I was going to post about our trip. Wait, you didn't know we were gone? Geeze! Well, we were. :)

Sara and I headed to Memphis at 845PM on Friday May 16th with a car full of luggage, a cat, and a litter box. We finally arrived in Memphis about 3am after several stops along the way. As much as I hate to drive that late, I rather enjoyed the company. Sara is always the best passenger. :) We decided this time to stay at Mammaw's house since she really doesn't get that many guests and hasn't really had anyone stay with her since Granddaddy died last year. So up the stairs we went to our bed in the rec room. Rachel and Stacey remember that room very well I imagine as they stayed many a nights up there. The next morning we were greeted by a cup of coffee, cereal, and conversation with Mammaw. Shortly after our showers we headed to Sean's so that we could enjoy a day of fun with he and his family and friends for his birthday. We all went to Jillians and ate, played games and bowling, ate some more, and had Starbucks. Ok, just me, Marilyn, and Beth had Starbucks but hey, Sean almost got a girlfriend out of it...lol. Maybe not but Beth tried. Sean, Sara and I along with Sean's friend Dan headed to tour downtown until our game started at Autozone park. A long walk by the river with a trolley ride was just the ticket to enjoy downtown a little bit more. We were met by a mob of people who refused to let a seat up at all, even for Sara who is pregnant. We found it rude but the next stop, most people got off. Anyway, we finally made it to AZ Park where we watched the Redbirds play Oklahoma in a fight to the finish. I believe it was one of the best AAA games I have seen in a long time. Of course, no one can out play the Grizzlies up here in St Louis. ;) After the game we went on an unplanned tour of downtown and headed to Millington where we dropped Sean off and then we to mom's. Of course, mom was excited to see us because it has been ages (march to be exact) since she's seen us. I felt kind of bad about not staying there but I know that we can't please everyone. We retreated to Mammaw's after a breif stop at Wendy's. Sunday was a day to rest and go to church with Mammaw. Sara's never been to a Southern Baptist Church and so this was a treat. Our Sunday School teacher made us the center of his Bible Study. We found it comical but hey, he made a few great points. Brother Ray taught on faithfulness which was a really good sermon. With Glen, Carol, and Mammaw we headed over to Old Timers to meet Mom, Dad, and Amanda for lunch. The conversational pieces included Chickasaw, the SMokies, and long lost memories of times past. Not long after, everyone with the exception of Glen and Carol went to Mammaws where we played Scrabble and listened to Dad snore. :) On Monday, Mammaw had a dr's appointment so we took her there first and then headed to I HOP. We took Amanda to see Chronicles of Narnia which was an awesome movie plagued with funny puns and fast paced action. For such a long movie, we never noticed. Tuesday was pretty nice. We knew we had to head back but we weren't in a hurry. We really enjoyed the time in Memphis which is not always the case because when we are there we are usually constantly running so we can see everyone. We met Mom and Dad for breakfast at Perkins and enjoyed having two waitresses because they messed up and let us sit there for over 30 minutes before we even got a menu or drink....there was only 4 families int he whole place. lol. After that we went to Mom and Dad's to talk for a little while before we had to leave. Normally we get so much time with them but this trip we weren't able too. I really wanted to focus on getting Sara the rest she needed before the baby comes. Speaking of the baby:

Week 33
Your baby measures about 19.4 inches from head to toe and weighs about 4.4 pounds. The next few weeks will mark lots of growth in the baby. The fetus will gain more than half its birth weight in the next seven weeks. Baby begins to move less now as it runs out of room and curls up with knees bent, chin resting on chest and arms and legs crossed.

Mom
Sara is doing well but is very uncomfortable now with heartburn and trying to sleep. Other than those things that come with pregnancy, she is doing very well! :)

Well, now I must leave you but you can always come again. Take your shoes off, you hear? Nevermind.

Oh yeah! You have to visit my new blogsite for the Bible Study: redbudbc.blogspot.com ! Enjoy!

Wow, I'm impressed that Sara had the energy for all that! Wish we could have met y'all for lunch at Old Timer's as well, but with my family in town it just wasn't meant to be this time.
